Having reached the end of "23 Things," here are some final thoughts:

Favorite Things
  • Librarything
  • Picnik
  • Flickr
  • del.icio.us.
What I Learned
  • It takes a lot of time to do or even keep up with current technologies.
  • Library/Web 2.0 is in a "big bang" stage, with technologies expanding rapidly from the center. The number and differentiation of tools is astounding and continues to grow.
  • Using these tools helped me better understand what the next generation of library users may be looking for from libraries. The power to generate their own content seems especially important.
Suggestions for the Future
  • Fewer passwords/individual accounts? It may not be possible, but it would be nice to have a "23 Things" group account where people can play around rather than all of us creating zillions of separate accounts.
